Year 2017 marks Finland's centennial. The theme of the year is "together" and we want to celebrating together with all Finns, Finnish-Americans and friends of Finland!
Though many centennial events will take place around the actual Independence Day on December 6, many individuals and organizations are arranging events throughout the year. To bring visibility to these events a "Centennial Mascot" – the Traveling Sauna - moves from the West coast to the East coast during 2017. We hope our mascot will spread the news of Finland's centennial and create some happy smiles on the U.S roads.
The Traveling Sauna started its journey in Minnesota in January and travels across the U.S. during the centennial year. There are several sauna stops in important Finnish-American areas. If you have any questions about the Traveling Sauna, please contact Chief Sauna Master Jouko Sipilä and Chief Program Officer Risto Sivula (email@example.com) directly. For more information about the sauna, please visit www.travelingsauna.com
