FINLAND 100 IN SOCIAL MEDIA
The Embassy of Finland has asked 100 famous Finnish-Americans or friends of Finland to send their greetings to the centenarian. On these videos, people tell about their personal relationship with Finland. Astronaut Timothy Kopra shares how beautiful Finland looks from space, NHL players Mikko Koivu and Mikael Granlund say they are proud to represent Finland in the U.S., and film director Renny Harlin explains how much he misses his home country. Conan O'Brien had the honor to launch the campaign in the beginning of January.
The videos are published on the Embassy’s social media sites throughout the year. In addition, you can find all the videos also on the Embassy's YouTube channel.
The Embassy publishes also a 12-part “Centennial Story of Finland” on its website. The series explores Finland’s journey through the lens of Finnish-American relations. How has the United States impacted Finland, and what kind of impressions has “brave little Finland” made on Americans? The series examines these important questions over the course of twelve posts, one per decade, to get a better understanding of our common past. Read the Centennial Story of Finland.
